Editing: Using Keep Vid

During the research stage I established that my documentary would be best suited for Channel 4 and therefore during the editing stage I wanted the Channel 4 opening title to play to begin with. Due to the fact this is an existing shot used before every documentary I used the website ‘KeepVid’ and I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to use this so I could apply it to my own documentary.
To do this I googled the Channel 4 opening titles on YouTube and copied the link from the one I wanted. I then pasted this link into the KeepVid website and then downloaded the video from there onto my desktop and then opening it into iMovie and editing it in front of my documentary.

I also used a transition between the clips so it is smoother and more aesthetically pleasing. I experimented with different transitions as it was a new tool to me and I wanted it to look professional. Using this clip reinforces a brand identity and follows the codes and conventions of documentaries.
